On Thursday, an American Airlines passenger plane caught fire after landing at the takeoff-landing ramp of Denver Airport in Colorado. This information is confirmed by photos published on social networks. The images show the plane surrounded by smoke, while passengers stand on one of the wings, waiting for assistance.
In their separate statements, which were quoted by local media, American Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration, responsible for air traffic, reported that the plane had been diverted in Denver due to a problem with the engine.
"All 172 passengers and six crew members were evacuated and transported," the statement from the airline said, as reported by local television Denver7. It was planned that the plane should have flown from Colorado Springs to Texas, to Dallas-Fort Worth.
